Research Integrity

Rigorous work. Responsible practice.

Research integrity and capacity are part of Helvia’s stated objects. Our approach centres on responsible inquiry and evidence that can be examined and understood.

Independence and rigour

We seek research questions, methods and interpretations that are guided by evidence and scholarly judgement. Collaboration and funding should support the Centre’s objects while protecting academic independence.

Transparency and disclosure

Research communications should explain methods and limitations, acknowledge contributions and identify relevant funding and conflicts of interest. Working papers, commentary and externally peer-reviewed work should be described accurately.

People, data and research responsibilities

Research involving people or their information requires appropriate ethical consideration, permissions and data protection arrangements before it proceeds. Responsibilities for access, confidentiality, storage, sharing and retention should be agreed for each project.

Authorship and collaboration

Clear agreements should address roles, authorship, data responsibilities and publication rights. Contributions should be credited fairly, and partners should be able to understand the basis on which the work will be conducted and communicated.

Corrections and concerns

To raise a concern about research integrity, authorship, a conflict of interest or the accuracy of material on this website, email info@helviaresearch.org with the relevant title or page and a clear account of the issue. Please avoid sending sensitive research data in an initial enquiry.
